Meet the Team

  • Owner, Instructor

    Brian Battles is a 14-year member of the St. Louis County Police Department, where he currently serves as an Administrative Specialist in the Bureau of Communications. He began his career as a public safety dispatcher and rose through the ranks over 13 years to his current position. During his tenure, Brian has been assigned to tactical dispatch field assignments during the civil unrest in Ferguson, Missouri as well as the civil unrest in the City of St. Louis in 2017.

    In 2016, Brian completed the National Emergency Number Association’s Emergency Professional Number program and was certified as an ENP. Additionally, Brian completed the FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy in Memphis, TN in 2019. The trilogy consists of 3 week-long programs focusing on supervisor, command, and executive institutes. In 2021, Brian was selected to, and graduated from, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command – Class 505 – Jefferson City, MO. During this 11-week intensive program, Brian was the only civilian in the class and was elected as a class officer (leadership role) by his peers. Brian routinely speaks to agencies across the state of Missouri about change management, leadership, conflict resolution, and mentorship programs.

    Brian’s biggest career achievement has been his successful lobby of the St. Louis County Council to draft, introduce, and pass legislation that classified 911 dispatchers as first responders in St. Louis County. As a result of this, the bargaining unit 911 dispatchers were able to successfully negotiate for substantially higher wage increases than all other civilian employees.

    Brian Currently serves as the Chair of the St. Louis County PSAP User group and the Chair of the St. Louis County Emergency Communications Operations Committee. He instructs classes at the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy and is an active member of the National Leadership Society.

    Brian has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College and a Master’s Degree in Management and Leadership from Western Governor’s University.


  • Owner, Instructor

    Eddie Baird has over 17 years in public safety. He began his career as a Public Safety Dispatcher, rising through the ranks as a supervisor and leader, and is currently the CAD Administrator for the St. Louis County Police.

    During his tenure, Eddie has served in a supervisory role during the Civil Unrest in Ferguson, two historic 1000-year floods in the St. Louis Region in 2015 and 2017, the 2016 Presidential Debates, and the Civil Unrest in St. Louis City in 2017.

    Eddie has served as an instructor for the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy for over 13 years and was vital in the implementation and instruction of the St. Louis County Police Dispatch Academy Class.

    While Eddie's career has led him towards the technological side of 9-1-1, he understands the importance of leadership and management in a stressful workplace.
